Register to vote NOW. Don’t wait. You can do it any time.

Also…reminder to pay attention to all local elections and VOTE. These elected officials are the people most likely to directly impact your life in the short term. 

This has to start now. Right now.

Get your birth certificates. There may be a fee or long wait times. Make sure you get a certified copy.

Make sure you have ID. Dig into your state’s laws and the whole Real ID thing, because (and sorry I can’t research this now, but pneumonia) I believe there are certain states whose driver’s licenses don’t qualify for Real ID.

Make sure you’re registered to vote. Google it. Follow the instructions for your state.

Know where your local polling place is or find out if you can vote by mail.

Vote in ALL your upcoming elections. Yes, that means the little ones for city council or dog catcher or whatever. Vote those racist, homophobic, bigots out at every level.

They’re like weeds. You can pull up every visible bit, but if you leave one tiny segment of root, they’ll just come back.

The republican party is to the United States what cancer is to the human body. They bluff and bluster about how they’re about morals and family values, but ever since Trump took office they have shown their true colors. They’re a party of racism. A party of bigotry. A party of homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, sexism, and Nazi-apology. They’ve proven time and time again that ‘GOP’ actually stands for ‘Gross Old Pricks.’

They scream about how Black Lives Matter should be a hate group yet don’t say a goddamn thing when actual Nazis march in the streets and murder innocent people. They say “Think of the children!” over subjects like violent video-games and Roe v Wade yet happily put children in fucking concentration camps for legally seeking asylum. They claim to support small businesses and middle/working class Americans yet milk us for everything we’re worth and cut every single service they can so they can give obscene tax breaks to the wealthiest people in America. They fight tooth and nail to keep people from immigrating to this country, legally and otherwise, yet cozy up to Russian oligarchs and dictators during the Fourth of July because they’d rather see America as a Russian occupied ruin than a functioning country where straight white men aren’t the ruling majority. They shrieked bloody fucking murder over how Obama was a traitor to the American people because he likes mustard on his burger yet barely said a thing when Trump did all but drop his pants, lay on his back, and grab his own ankles before Putin.

Vote these traitorous scumbags out. Vote them all out! I don’t care if the person running against them is a pretentious hipster douche-balloon who’s favorite band is the fucking Eagles, they’re still a better choice than the party backing Trump. Vote them out. Vote them ALL out. Not voting is exactly how we found ourselves in this nightmare, and it’s time to wake up.

Enough is enough. Register to vote, and go vote. Vote the republicans out and wake us from this nightmare.
