“CIA did nothing” is just false. The USA has been involved politically, economically and/or militarily in every country in Latin America. The disastrous “war on drugs”, the heavy sanctions on Venezuela’s oil exports as well as funding its far-right nationalist groups, the current political turmoil in Brazil, etc. The USA is heavily involved in the entire region
