I’m genuinely wondering why AJ+ is overlooking that not only was this a homophobic hate crime, but also an antisemitic hate crime. Woodward had explicitly antisemitic content on his phone and was a member of Atomwaffen Division, which is a white supremacist group preparing for a race war and promoting the idea that "societal and governmental “systems” are collapsing and that democracy and capitalism have “given way to Jewish oligarchies and globalist bankers resulting in the cultural and racial displacement of the white race.” He knew Blaze Bernstein, Z’’L, was Jewish, and targeted him for being gay and also for being Jewish. 

Why is it so difficult to be up front about antisemitism?
