im so tired of theater kids. pretending to be someone you’re not is not only identity theft at best but its kin faking at worst. we get it. you think its cute to dress up as your ‘kin’ for a little bit when us real ones are out here being called k*nnies and fighting for YOUR rights every single day

my own canonmate died for my right to be kin with frisk. they DIED. dont call people k*nnies when real people literally suffered DEATH just for being sans kin.

It’s also worth mentioning non-kin cosplayers appropriating kin culture. Like you can’t just dress up and act like someone without being kin jfc.

as a kinpassing theatre kid and cosplayer, i think this is extremely shortsighted and offensive. not only do i get called a k*nnie by my friends on a near daily basis, i am also deeply hurt by the implication that i cant temporarily become someone else. cosplayers and theatre kids have been around for just as long as (if not longer than) k*nnies, and we face just as much (again, if n9t more) violence and 9ppression as k*nnies do. frankly, this is just disgusting. if i w9uld have known that this blog was so 6latantly against theatre kids and cosplayers (who are CONSTANTLY fighting tooth and nail to n9rmalize shared behaviors 6etween 69th theatre/c9splayer folx AND kinnies, 6y the way) then i NEVER w9ould have f9ll9wed. furtherm9re, it is frankly un6elieva6le t9 me that y9ure willing t9 c9mpletely ign9re the harrassment and vi9lent c9spho6ia + dramaph96ia we face 9n a weekly, daily, h9urly 6asis. we are pe9ple t99. we are n9t stealing y9ur identity, we are just trying desperately t9 n9rmalize 9ur 9wn identities, m9st 9f which have existed f9r far l9nger than the aggregated kinmunities. i h9pe th
