I honestly question why Thatcher is considered the Grandpa of Rainbow Six Siege? The man likes a less fancy kind of warfare, sure (and that’s because when he started playing soldier, there weren’t exactly high-tech gadgets around) but a key (critical) component of being SAS is to be able to adapt. It’s not realistic to think that Thatcher wouldn’t be on top of the latest tech coming out as the years wore on, because chances are he’d be one of the unlucky sods facing it out in the field. Plus at 56… with the largest age gap being 30-ish between him and the youngest operator, he’s not exactly hitting the third generation patriarch mile stone. I don’t know… I just don’t like the stereotype. I get that he’s old, but it kind of degrades his character to assume he’s some frumpy old bastard that doesn’t understand the other operators gadgets, let alone a simple computer…
