imperfect: action started, could still be going on

past simple: evoking an action that’s already over, usually a short one

past anterior (it’s basically composite past simple): something that happened before a past simple basically

(i also uh. didn’t. do all of them tenses lmao. we’ve got anterior future, and more-than-perfect, and different modes………..)

You just described three different tenses as the same thing

this is embarrassing to have to do but i want to help my family and don’t know how else to

tl;dr my single mother is probably being made redundant after not being paid right for nearly a month. she has 3 kids aged 15, 9 and 8.

my mother has worked as a nurse for the NHS since i was born. theyve been gradually increasing her workload recently to the point where instead of having to visit 7 or 8 patients around the city, she has to visit upwards of 15. shes not been given the correct wages for the past few weeks either.. and has just received the news theres a 99% chance shes going to lose her job on monday, 12th november. we literally have No Money At All right now. she also recently split with my stepdad and has been supporting me and my younger siblings, 8 and 9, by herself while working full time.

as a 5th year im regularly in school 8-9 hours a day with intervention and revision sessions etc.. i do commissions here, but my free time is basically nonexistent at this point. ive been paying for takeout and fuel and other small things to keep us going but its really really not sustainable. i dont have time for much more than what i already do. so…. im asking for help. i dont know what would happen to us without her. more importantly, im concerned for her. i love my ma and shes got enough to deal with as it is, i dont want us getting evicted or having our utilities cut off on top of it all. shes already had to secretly sell a bunch of my little siblings’ toys and a lot of our clothes. she tries so hard but its literally like something is trying to ruin everything for us
