you’re not ending cringe culture you’re just tired of people making fun of the things you like. the bad things you don’t like are still cringy and cringe culture still lives. south park is still cringy and listening to Eminem is still cringy and being on reddit is cringy and reading vice is cringy. word your three-times-a-month “let’s end cringe culture” posts differently. like, be specific cause it’s getting boring to see literally the same post over and over. get specific. i wish it was more socially acceptable to wear fursuits on funny videos and cut fancy soap with a scalpel and listen to nu metal. like that
every once in a while i regret putting eminem and south park up in there cause i have people telling me “but those are ACTUALLY BAD things op youre cringy delete your blog” and like…… thats entirely not the point. hate to word it like that but. subscribing to cringe culture isnt that bad actually. just like admit that you subscribe to it. admit that when you join your pals to collectively make fun of someone for watching south park, youre doing it because watching south park is cringy. cringe culture is making fun of people n were never gonna stop making fun of people because like, whos got the patience to try to explain why something is bad to someone whos just going to reinforce their own view in the long run. just admit you like making fun of people! stop reblogging posts that go “oh this year im going to be divine and soft and im going to be radiating good vibes” this year youre gonna make fun of people n thats final………..
Honestly what kinda society will live in where we wake up, check our phones and there’s new notifications or just the news in the morning and there’s another shooting and it feels like all you can do is say “that’s horrible” and you have to go on with your day anyways. Like you’re just expected to go to work or carry on with plans like nothing happened.
I remember when the Pulse shooting happened and I cried at work and mourned the fact that people like me at being killed like that and just you know… the idea of people out there being killed for something like that. And while I was mourning the majority of my friends and family just did not seem to give a fuck and carry on with their days like it was just another day. And I imagine it’s the same for Jewish people right now. Like how are we this dead as a society.
