TIL that men who perform poorly at video games are more likely to make sexist comments about female gamers than successful male gamers.

via ift.tt

Only fake gamers are misogynistic real gamers are busy playing games

So you’re telling me the way to end sexism is really this simple?

ok tumblr, i’ve seen your obsession with worms and frogs… but hear me out on this,… have you ever heard of POODLE MOTHS

This is a toy of a domesticated silkworm moth, which looks exactly the same but is significantly smaller. Moth bodies don’t work at that size. The “Venezuelan poodle moth” most likely does not exist, because the person who discovered it only got one picture over a decade ago and no one else has ever seen one.

There are a few sorts of moth that you would probably like, such as the previously mentioned domesticated silkworm moth- That is what most of our silk production comes from! Rosy maple moths are similar in form but they are a bright pink and yellow color. Hummingbird hawk moths are very cool, too, they are moths that are attempting to imitate hummingbirds, and do a much better job of it than you would initially assume. Less fuzzy, but still beautiful moths exist, such as a whole family of moths known as the shiny head standing moths! They are all pure white moths like this, but with shimmering gold patterns on them.

Moths are really cool, but this particular image gets passed around as a “poodle moth” a lot after people misunderstood the original article about the Venezuelan poodle moth somehow and it has started to bug me.

A porcupine’s Halloween present (+ original sound effects)

I had no idea giant porcupines made fucking precious sounds

THAT’S THE SOUND IT MAKES!?!?!?

UN-BE-FUCKING-LIEVABLE

We got asked if this is cute and okay. I can very happily say yes, this is stupid cute and those are happy porcupine noises.

One of my favorite things about doing zoo work was all the noises you never realize the animals make when they’re excited or interested in a new thing. Coatimundis squeak and snuffle, and giant porcupines make that sound.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this video on my dash, so it’s time to bring it back! The information provided above is still correct, and was sourced directly from the zookeeper that takes care of this specific animal.

remember when angelina jolie got a double mastectomy and Every Single Man on Earth acted like it was a personal attack on them specifically

Even though by the time it was announced she already had her breasts reconstructed and she was only going public about it to warn other women about risks?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot as several of my friends deal with breast cancer.
