but for real I spent weeks between Story and Song episodes thinking I was gonna get a triumphant and joyful victory smackdown against a villain who had come to represent, to me, despair and depression and all the times in my life I wanted to just Give Up. I was depressed and grieving and I’d just listened to the first 67 episodes in a week and a half and I was so ready for Merle to fight John, the idea of that fight meant so much to me
and then instead Griffin Andrew fucking McElroy decided to make that villain fight back and see hope for the future even when he himself had no chance to survive, and I am never going to stop thinking about that. how instead of just a story about how your joy is more powerful than any darkness around you, they told a story about how persistent joy and kindness and willingness to reach out to someone else can change someone, can help them; about how the anger and despair and apathy inside you can overtake and consume you, and the whole world with you, and even then it’s never too late to turn around and see it for the lie it is and fight against it, and fight for hope and joy and friendship and peace and the right to be yourself again instead of the emptiness you’ve been for so long. and that means so, so much more
i hate “accurate” shakespeare productions where all the actors are white guys. the reason women didn’t act in his plays was because it was illegal in that time obv due to misogyny, and we don’t want that to carry over. there were characters of colour that shakespeare specifically wrote. for example, othello was a part for a black actor and yet there r MODERN productions of othello where othello’s actor is a white dude in blackface.
shakespeare would be thrilled if he knew that modern productions of his works featured diverse casts, complete with not only female actors, lgbt actors, and actors of colour, but interpretations that have been tweaked to showcase modern issues that black communities, gay people, women, etc. face.
if you want to do something, do it. a midsummer production where they’re all lesbians? a romeo and juliet production depicting racial tensions? a twelfth night production where viola is and is played by a trans women? shakespeare’s ghost will give u a thumbs up. (plus his works are out of copyright so u can do whatever the hell you want with them whether he’d want you to or not.)

anybody else cringe into the astral realm when a youtuber uses what i like to call a “rant avatar”
you know what i mean, like a cartoon image of themselves or other character that represents them that they have on the screen while audio of themselves whining plays over it
every epic libtard exposee response video has one of these and I blame Sargon of Akkad for this
“Girls want a Superman, but they walk past a Clark Kent every day”
You fuckin CLOWNS think you’re a CLARK KENT? Not on my fuckin watch. You dumb, headass motherfuckers are barely a Guy Gardner and you think you’re a CLARK KENT? The amount of disrespect is unreal.
Listen here, wannabes: My boi Clark is 240 lbs of PURE KANSAS BEEF trained from a young age by Ma Kent to Love and Respect women as the Intelligent, Independent beings they are. He is shy rambling about tractors and casually moving the copy machine when my pen falls behind it and he would NEVER demand I be sexually or romantically interested just because he’s nice.
